Daunting Road Double Header for Hoods

Following last week’s double defeat at home, the Hoods are back on the road for another daunting weekend taking on League leaders Worthing Thunder on Saturday before Reading Rockets on Sunday.

Thunder took control of the league in February, defeating Kestrels at the beginning of the month and backing it up with 2 further wins in the month to sit on top of the pile with just 4 losses. The last time these two teams met at the Wildcats Arena, Worthing snuck a 74-84 win and are stacked throughout with a good mix of veterans and talented youngsters.

On Sunday, Rockets pose a different challenge as a team sitting a couple of places above Hoods in the league on the back of two strong wins against Dragons and Team Newcastle. Earlier in the year, with Watts and Powell out injured Rockets took a 71-76 win and Hoods will be targeting this game as an opportunity to get back in the mix for the play-off places after dropping out of them for the first time this season after last weekend. Win either or both of the games this weekend will put them right back in the mix to make the play-offs in their first season in Division 1.
