#FreeFunFoodNottm comes to a successful conclusion

As the schools go back, the summer project working with Nottingham Forest Community Trust, providing free food packages and a day of sporting activities has concluded.

With activities across 14 locations in Nottingham, the Hoods were part of this excellent initiative and have been able to provide local school pupils across the city with free food and sports activity sessions every day throughout the summer break.

With around 3 million children in the UK at risk of malnutrition during school holidays and even greater pressure put on households throughout the Covid pandemic, a free packed lunch was provided at each session for children aged between 6-16.

Coaches, players and backroom staff, including Head Coach Ben Stanley, were on hand to lend support during the summer and help our community.

Club Chair, Graham Blankley commented, “It’s been a pleasure to work with the Nottingham Forest Community Trust on this project, providing a great opportunity to inspire a whole generation of youngsters who would not have otherwise had the opportunity to experience the great sport of basketball. We are already looking forward to assisting with the Christmas programme.”
