The McDonald’s Nottingham Hoods are please4d to complete their Big 3 signings with the inclusion of New Zealander Matthew Allan Wilson.
The 22 year old forward joins the Hoods from the Hawkes Bay Hawks, where he played in the New Zealand National League. An ex-rugby player, he will bring some strength and aggression to the court, living by his moto “if it’s to be, it’s up to me”
Club Captain Bruce Lauder, commented, “I am delighted that Matthew has decided to join us. Being an ex-rugby player like myself, I am looking forward to him bringing that grit and determination, that only comes from playing rugby, into our club and locker-room. He is a big man and will be a very valuable asset on defence and offence. We now have a Big 3 of signings for the summer, with Matthew, Miguel and of course Alvaro. We also have a core of players returning from last season that will be announced shortly and I for one am very excited about our prospects in Division 2. It will be tough, the level is a significant step up from Division 3 but we have the base, framework and fan support to do it and do it well”
