Hoods u16 Win Big on the Road

McDonald’s Nottingham Hoods u16 started the 2016/17 season with a huge away win in the National Cup. City of Birmingham U16s 26 – 81 Nottingham Hoods U16s

A fantastic start to the season for Hoods U16s, on the road in the cup!

After finding out that the we were told to go to the wrong venue, and arriving at the correct venue 20 mins before the tip, the boys had to start the game straight from the car park! Birmingham were a young, small, yet very talented and well-coached team. Captain Oliver Sporton led the team with his positive attitude and intensity (11 pts, 6 assists, 13 (!) steals). Nathanial Powell (2.02 metres) dominated against a very quick and small guard line up, with 34 pts, 14 rebounds. Plus there were others in double figures

There are some really encouraging signs that all of the returning players from last year, plus the boys that stepped up from a very successful U14s year, have worked on their game all summer. Most importantly they are all in the right state of mind this year to go to the next level with a lot of hard work.

It was a pleasure to coach them today what a fab start to the season!

Thank you for your effort boys and parent for your support!
Coach Toli
