Hoods vs Sabres Preview

DSC_3163The Nottingham Hoods are back in league action this weekend, looking to bounce back from their opening game defeat as they take on Sheffield Sabres.

Sheffield Sabres have been scrapping with the Hoods for the past 3 season and their games are always close battles with the Sabres leading the head-to-head 4-2, with no game being won by more than 3 points.

The Sabres are a solid outfit, coached by ex-GB star Pete Scantlebury and are always vying for play-off positions at the end of the season. This season has been a diffcult start for them though as they narrowly lost their opening game to Brimingham Mets, before being demolished by early front-runners Northants Thunder to leave them second from bottom in the league at this early juncture.

The Hoods have added to their squad after their embarassing opening weekend defeat to Stockport Falcons, with athletic point guard and member of the 2010 National Championship winning team, Kallum Dunn returning to the squad. GM Lee English is also hopefully of receiving international clearance for their 7ft Lithuanian, who will add some much needed size to the roster.

The game promises to be another close encounters with both teams aiming to get the first win of the campaign and start climbing the table.
