Hustlers put on a show

Nottinghamshire’s most successful basketball team, Hyson Green Hustlers – a feeder team to the McDonald’s Nottingham Hoods put on a great game as the original old school team took on the current batch of players.

Nottingham Hoods legends Bruce Lauder, Jason Dacres, Andrew Tucker, Mike Griffith and current player Tony Palmer were all kitted up for the old boys, whilst Kirk Davis was joined on the new school team alongside reigning Hoods MVP Danny Wong and ex-Hoods star JoJo Owusu-Ansah.

It was a close game throughout with the new school only taking the win in the final quarter as their full bench of players ran the tired legs off the 6 old school players.

Hoods Club Captain Bruce Lauder commented after the game, “this was so much fun. We have been talking about doing it for years and I’m so pleased we finally got a date. It’s a shame there were only 6 1/2 of us old boys, but this is a very talented bunch of players, young and old and a testament to how basketball should be played. Nottingham is very lucky to have such a great organisation that has produced some exceptional basketball players over the years and the Hoods are very proud to be associated with them.”
