In what was arguably the most difficult end to a regular season Hoods have experienced in their 12 year history, Mo Williams excelled, playing every minute of both games.
With the two games against key rivals for 4th place, and a home play-off berth, Hoods needed two wins and thanks to Mo’s double-double performance in both they grabbed two excellent home wins to finish the regular season and confirm 4th place – the highest ever finish for the Hoods.
Saturday saw a back and forth game against Worthing, with neither team leading by more than 6 until Hoods took over late in Q3, Mo finishing with a statline of 32 points (14/20 shooting), 17 rebounds, 1 block for an incredible efficiency stat of 40.
Hemel Storm, on Sunday, provided an altogether different test, with Storm leaidng by as much as 20 midway through the third quarter before an incredible turnaround saw Hoods run out 87-81 victors. Mo waqs the standout player again with 35 poinbts, 10 rebounds, 1 block and an eficiency stat of 24.
Attention now turns to the play-offs, with Hoods taking on Saturday’s opponents, Worthing Thunder.
