The wait is over – Hoods are back this weekend

After a long summer break, the Nottingham McDonald’s Hoods are back in Division 1 action this weekend with a tough double header.

On Saturday, the Hoods travel to Hemel Storm who started the season with a good 69-103 win over newcomers Liverpool to sit 2nd in the league after the opening round of fixtures. Hoods and Storm finished on identical points last year and shared an away win each when they met. Having recruited well over the summer, Storm are going to be a different animal this year, but so are Hoods, so it is bound to be a cracking game.

On Sunday, local rivals Loughborough Riders make the short trip up to Nottingham as the Hoods take to their home court in front of the Merry Men for the first time. Riders are one of the strongest programmes in the country are always in the mix at the end of the season. Hoods grabbed the win in the Trophy Group Stage last year, but Riders won both league matches as they finished 3rd. The game tips off at 5.00pm at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena and you can reserve your VIP courtside seats online now, by clicking here.

Coach Westley can’t wait to get his new team on to the court, “I’m really excited to get things going this weekend. We have a brand new team that has gelled well and everyone is chomping at the bit to get going after a long preseason.”
