The full fixture list for The Nottingham Hoods 2014-15 campaign has been released, with the exciting confirmation that The Nottingham Hoods II have been accepted into the National League structure and will be playing in Division 4.
The opening league fixture for the 1st team couldn’t be a more exciting tie as they face cross county rivals and former teammates in Mansfield Giants at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena. Giants were relegated last season after several years in Division 2 and will be looking to bounce straight back, so will prove a very tough opening fixture, and a good benchmark, for a Hoods team that are looking for success themselves this season. The Division 4 team will play their first ever National League game away to university side, Sheffield Hallam Sharks, a feeder team for successful BBL franchise Sheffield Sharks, with their first home game a week later against Shropshire Warriors.
GM Lee English commented, “I cannot wait for this season to get going. We have been working very hard over the summer with our sponsors to get the team in shape and re-ignite the passion Nottingham felt for the Hoods during our first, Championship Winning season. The inclusion of the Division 4 team is another huge step forward for the club, giving the opportunity for the Juniors to continue their development and play at Men’s National League level at an earlier age than perhaps they would have done in the past. This will have a huge effect on their game and bring it on at a much quicker rate than we have previously been able to offer and set the foundations for our future.”
