This Friday, 11th July 2014, Club Captain, Bruce Lauder will be attempting to climb the 4 Highest Peaks in the UK within 48 hours, all for the Hood’s sponsor’s – Trelleborg – nominated charity, Antonio Bianchi’s House.
Antonio Bianchi’s House is aimed at helping poverty stricken, homeless and abused children in Sri Lanka (near the Trelleborg factory) by providing schooling, shelter and a chance in life. Antonio Bianchi is an ex-Trelleborg employee who was tragically killed in a road accident, his family set up the charity in his honour.
The route itself takes in Slieve Donard, Northern Ireland (2,785ft); Ben Nevis, Scotland (4,409ft), Scafell Pike, England (3,209ft) and Snowdon, Wales (3,560ft) and starts at 4am on the morning of the 11th with an anticipated finish time around midnight on the 12th.
“This is going to be a huge challenge, both physically and mentally, so please tell your friends, family and anyone you know to support me and this fantastic charity. Thank you in advance for all donations and I look forward to sharing my experience with you on the Hoods website and next season – if I survive!!”
Bruce is calling out to all Hoods fans, players and management to give very generously to this important cause, please email him directly on firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
