Coach Westley Previews Varsity

The ever popular Varsity basketball game between Nottingham Trent University and University of Nottingham returns this Friday, 22nd April at the Motorpoint Arena.

As part of then ongoing partnership between McDonald’s Nottingham Hoods and Nottingham Trent University, Hoods player Ryan Westley has headed up the coaching system at the university to great effect and they enter this year’s Varsity game in the better shape than ever before.

2015-2106 has been a very successful year for NTU basketball, with the team finishing third with a 6-4 record, just two buzzing beaters away from being promoted. Coach Westley commented, “it’s been great to see the increase exposure and hard work the guys have put in this year; they have built a fantastic team chemistry which really shows on the court.

The guys have been putting in extra work for Varsity, and as usual everyone is very pumped up and excited. This year promises to be a fantastic event, and I have a few tricks up my sleeve! I genuinely believe we have a great chance of winning this year, we are quick and athletic and will cause a lot of problems for Uni with mis-matches, but whatever happens I am proud of the work and dedication of the team.”

Tickets are still available for the event starting from just £7, see the Nottsvarsity website by clicking here for further details.]]>
