For the first time in the history of the club, the McDonald’s Nottingham Hoods will have a Junior representative in the post season play-offs alongside the Senior Men.
With the final round of Junior games taking place this weekend, The Junior Hoods u16 were confirmed as runners-up in the East Midlands League and after all the calculations were complete, earn their pace in the play-offs for the first time – after only their second season. They take on the League Champions from the Midlands South Division, Eastside Eagles London. Eagles have only lost one league game all season and have had a relatively comfortable season, including a 12-117 blowout on the road, so the Hoods will have a tough road trip. The game is at 12.45pm on Saturday 25th March at Leyton Sixth Form College.
The Hoods played their final league game at the weekend, and came up just short to their potential opponents in the play-offs, Kent Crusaders 82-91. The loss does nothing to change the Hoods final league position as they remain in 6th place and face a trip to either Kent Crusaders or Thames Valley Cavaliers dependent on how their final league games finish this coming weekend. The Hoods have not beaten either of the two teams this season, but have not faced them at full strength – which they will be for the play-offs, so will be looking for an upset and a potential hoem semi-final.
