Hoods lose opener

DSC_3173The Nottingham Hoods started the 2013/14 season in the worst possible fashion with a dissapointing loss at home to Stockport Falcons 59-78.

The start of the new season is always an unknown, with new faces, new teams and new goals but the Hoods struggled to find any cohesion on court in a scrappy encounter. A couple of licensing issues left the Hoods short on numbers and without a big man, but Coach Waghorn will be dissapointed to have lost the first game against a team they had beaten 5 times in six previous outings.

Despite a spirited display from Lucsz Siczek on his way to 23 points and the outstanding hustling efforts of new signing Danny Wong, the Hoods never looked in control and when the Falcons started hitting their long range efforts, there was nothing the Hoods could do to reply as they started chasing the game and commiting simple errors.

Top Scorers: Sikzek 23; Apostolidis 10; Hurd 10
