Hoods u18 into Cup Quarter Final

The Nottingham McDonald’s Hoods have qualified for the National Cup Quarter Final for the 1st time, defeating Birmingham Rockets away from home 56-84.

Led by Kris Kestenis (21pts), Manpreet Hundal (15pts) and Tyreese Hudson (14pts), a storming 13-30 first quarter set down the marker and the Hoods marched on from there to a comfortable away victory against a team on a similar record to them in the Central Premier League.

Club Captain Bruce Lauder commented, “this is a huge result for the boys, despite missing one of their key players. They won the league last season and earned promotion to the Premier League where they had a tough start, just falling short against the toughest opposition in the country in their first few games. Last week they picked up their first win of the league campaign and they have backed it up this week with a statement win in the cup, which will give their confidence a huge boost. I couldn’t be prouder of them”

The quarter final game sees Hoods have home court advantage as they face Reading Rockets at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena on Sunday 2nd December at 4.00pm
