Key games keep coming for Hoods

The Nottingham McDonald’s Hoods have another key game on Sunday as they travel to local rivals, and National Cup Champions, Loughborough Riders.

Riders started 2019 with two wins, before a shock loss to Essex Leopards. Since then, they have picked up the first bit of silverware for the year with a dominant 82-63 win over top of the league Team Solent Kestrels, and have progressed to the National Trophy final with a 66-91 over Reading Rockets last weekend, so are a team hunting silverware. Although sitting just ahead of the Hoods in Division 1, Riders have 3 games in hand one of which will be on Saturday, meaning Hoods have the advantage of an extra day’s rest. These teams have only met once this season in the National Trophy pool games, which Riders took 90-63, but there are two very different teams that will take to the floor on Sunday. It is sure to be an interesting match up against a young, well-drilled and well-coached Riders team. As it’s local, it would be great to get some travelling support from our Merry Men. The game tip-off is 2.00pm in the Netball Centre at Loughborough University.
