Notts Varsity Tonight

Tonight sees the return of the hugely popular and successful Nottingham Varsity Basketball Game at the Nottingham Ice Arena.

This season promises to be bigger and better than ever before and the Hoods have a great presence.

As part of the ongoing partnership with Nottingham Trent University, Hoods player Ryan Westley will take charge of his first varsity game as Coach. “I’m really excited to lead this team in Varsity, we have had a solid first year and the programme is heading in the right direction. We haven’t won this game for a few years and we’ll be looking at changing that on Monday against a very strong University of Nottingham side. It’ll be tough, but in a great arena in front of a huge crowd, anything can happen!”

Standing in Coach Westley’s way will be one player Ryan knows very well as Hoods American guard Evan Carberry will be suiting up for the University game after an impressive first season with Hoods.

Hoods Captain, Bruce Lauder, will also be providing expert analysis for the 4th year in a row for University Radio URN1350, which will be broadcasting live from 8pm at urn1350.net

The game starts at 8.15 with the women’s game at 5.30. Tickets are still available but limited. To hear what the captains think of the game, go to www.nottsvarsity.co.uk/captains-qas-basketball

As always, it will be an amazing event and one the Hoods are proud to be involved with.

Good luck to both teams in showcasing Nottingham’s University talent.
